This hunebed
is situated only 2 miles from the street where I live. As a boy me and
my friends went there and climbed the stones.
A century ago this medium sized hunebed
was still partly hidden under its original barrow. As nearly all hunebeds
the place has been dug out afterwards. It's a 5-capstone passage grave,
only one is missing. For two reasons this hunebed is interesting:
the porch is complete and there are still 18 kerbstones. Only 5 are
missing. (some hunebeds originally possessed an oval-shaped gerb of
stones at the foot of the barrow that covered the burial chamber's 'skeleton'.
Most of them disappeared in the course of time. Only 14 hunebeds still
have one or more of these kerbstones).
