This passage grave is
the most impressive in Northwest Germany. With no less than 17 capstones
(only 3 are missing) and a length of 26,5 m, this giant is the biggest
known prehistoric burial chamber of the Funnelbeaker Culture. Unique is
the dubble ring of kerbstones which is almost complete. It seems that
also in the past this grave inspired people so much with awe that even
stonerobbers left it alone. Thuine is a small village, only 35 km across
the Dutch border. The hunebed is situated north of the village in the
woods within easy
reach. |
